Age Group: Middle School Girls (6th-8th grade)
Home Base/Meeting Location: Arlington, VA
Experience Level: No prior backpacking experience is needed! The only requirement is that you can walk on uneven terrain and carry a pack of approximately 30lbs. Please contact Emma with any concerns. Allergies and dietary restrictions can be accommodated with prior notice.
Trip Description: The trip will gather in Arlington, VA on Friday, May 3rd at 3:00PM to pack and drive to the trailhead. We will hike and camp in the backcountry, exploring, playing, and learning all the necessary skills for camping along the way. We will return to Arlington at 2:00PM on Sunday, May 5th. This trip is ideal for girls who are curious to try backpacking or just want a fun weekend playing in the mountains. Our reflection theme for the weekend will be about women we admire and why. As always, all essential gear is available for borrowing, and scholarships are available upon request.
