Home Base/Meeting Location: Durham, NC
Experience Level: No prior backpacking experience is needed! The only requirement is that you can walk on uneven terrain and carry a pack of approximately 30lbs. Please contact Emma with any concerns. Allergies and dietary restrictions can be accommodated with prior notice.
Trip Description: The trip will gather in Durham, NC on Friday, April 12th at 3:00PM to pack and drive to the trailhead. We will hike and camp in the Appalachian mountains for two nights, and we will return to Durham at 3:00PM on Sunday, April 14th. This trip is ideal for girls who want to challenge themselves by trying backpacking and who enjoy lots of laughter and goofiness along the way. Our reflection theme for the weekend will be about women we admire and why. As always, all essential gear is available for borrowing, and scholarships are available upon request. Let me repeat…no experience is needed! This trip is meant to introduce girls to backpacking, so we will teach them everything necessary. The trip will be led by two fun and experienced adult women.
